Bloodletting according to Hildegard of Bingen

It has a detoxifying and purifying effect on the entire organism and prevents diseases. Hildegard of Bingen describes the bloodletting in her books as detoxifying and purifying. The blood is freed from “bad fluids” and waste products. This leads to a stimulation of the immune system and the production of new, fresh blood.

Only by an expert

The exact application of the Hildegard bloodletting is very important. So this may only be done in the first 6 days after the full moon. The subject must be completely sober on the day of the bloodletting (also do not drink water!). The bloodletting according to Hildegard of Bingen can only be carried out professionally by a suitably trained doctor.

Only light food

After bloodletting, it is recommended that one takes precaution and rest. One should eat light food, the first two days after the bloodletting. Spelt products and cooked vegetables, turkey, chicken, deer, venison, sheep, lamb, rice or compote, herbal tea and light wine are allowed. Cow milk, strawberries, blueberries, cabbage, cucumbers, plums, peaches and strawberries should be avoided one week after the bloodletting. Moderate sport without overexertion are allowed.
